Asics becomes offical supplier for the International Paralympic Committee

Asics signs on as an official merchandise supplier for the International Paralympic Committee.

The Japanese sportswear manufacturer has secured the rights for the next two years until the end of 2020.

It will see Asics supply official sportswear and shoes for the IPC and independent Paralympic athletes teams at official events.

Starting next year, all officials of World Para-Swimming, World Para Powerlifting and World Shooting Para-Sport at major events, including the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan will be wearing the brand.

Asics will also supply competition kits for around 300 para-athletes at Tokyo 2020 in a move designed to benefit developing National Paralympic Committees (NPCs).

Asics chairman and chief executive, Motoi Oyama, said: “In addition to further promoting the Paralympics, we wish to promote awareness towards a better world, as well as the development of social infrastructure, in order to realise a truly inclusive society.”

“Through our efforts with the IPC, we aim to contribute to a healthy and sustainable society.”
