orld Number One women’s tennis star, Ash Barty, has signed a sponsorship contract extension with Fila just days before the start of the Australian Open on February 8.

Barty first began working with Fila in 2016 and has since won one Grand Slam title, the 2019 French Open. The financial details and length of her new contract have not been announced publicly.

To celebrate her new deal, Barty will partner with Fila to release a ‘Barty Bundle’ merchandise pack, soon to be available via her social media and at select Australian and American tennis academies.

It will reportedly include a bespoke Ash Barty women’s training shirt and a branded face mask.

In a statement on the partnership extension, Barty said: “Fila has been by my side through the most exciting times of my career, and I could not be more delighted that they will continue to support me in my tennis journey.”

“They have been an integral part of my success on the court, and I am honoured to continue to represent such an iconic brand with a rich heritage in tennis and beyond.”

Fila’s global chairman, Gene Yoon, added: “Ash’s meteoric rise to the top of the tennis universe over the past several years has been incredible to behold, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue our relationship with her.”

“Ash is a remarkable individual who has made an incredible impact not only through her play on-court but also through her actions off-the-court in her local community and she is a role model for young women around the world.

“We look forward to being a part of her continued success for many years to come,” Yoon said.
