Apple Becomes Broadcast Partner for Formula 1 in the US

Formula 1 has announced a five-year partnership with Apple, naming the tech giant as the sport’s exclusive U.S. broadcast partner from 2026.

The collaboration unites two global leaders in innovation, technology, and entertainment marking a defining moment in Formula 1’s continued expansion across the United States.

Commenting on the partnership, Formula 1 president and CEO, Stefano Domenicali, said: “This is an incredibly exciting partnership for both Formula 1 and Apple.”

“After three years of collaboration on F1® The Movie, we’ve built a shared vision for how to deliver the most immersive fan experience yet. Together, we will connect with new audiences and keep them engaged year-round,” said Domenicali.

Apple’s SVP of services, Eddy Cue, added: “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and bring Apple TV subscribers closer to the action than ever.”

“2026 marks a transformative era for the sport—with new teams, regulations, and technology—and we’re excited to deliver fan-first coverage in a way only Apple can,” Cue said.

The partnership follows the phenomenal success of F1® The Movie, an Apple Original Film that captivated audiences worldwide after its June 2025 cinema and IMAX release.

The film will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on December 12, 2025. With nearly USD630 million in global box office earnings, it has become the highest-grossing sports movie of all time.

Building on this success, Apple will use its powerful ecosystem, spanning Apple TV, Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Sports, and Apple Fitness+, to engage millions of fans and attract a new generation to the sport.

The 2025 Global F1 Fan Survey revealed that 47% of new U.S. fans are aged 18–24, and over half are women, highlighting the opportunity for growth among younger and more diverse audiences.

From 2026, Apple TV will broadcast every Formula 1 practice, qualifying, Sprint session, and Grand Prix live, with select races and all practice sessions available free to watch via the Apple TV app. In addition, F1 TV Premium will remain accessible through Apple TV subscriptions and free for current subscribers.

Further details on production innovations and fan engagement initiatives will be announced ahead of the 2026 season launch.
