Angel City FC To Host Equity Summit In Australia

The National Women’s Soccer League’s (NWSL) Angel City Football Club (ACFC) has announced it will be hosting its next summit in Australia, in a curated experience celebrating soccer, networking, community participation, and the women’s game.

The Angel City Equity House will run a variety of programming activations and experiences in Sydney from July 31 – August 7, where guests will be able to enjoy world-class women’s soccer, attend live club events, and participate in volunteer impact opportunities down under.

The event, staged in Sydney, will be supported by the team’s exclusive spirits and sports drinks partners, Johnnie Walker and Gatorade, with the content of all events to be produced and amplified by US-based media brand, Hello Sunshine.

As opposed to a typical conference format, the club aims to program the event as a meeting of minds and powerful discussion, with Angel City co-founders Natalie Portman, Julie Uhrman, and Kara Nortman accompanying over 100 leaders from the sport, tech, entertainment, and business industries.

Commenting on the exciting new event, ACFC co-founder and president, Julie Uhrmann, said: “Since day one, Angel City has led with purpose and a single-minded focus on advancing gender equity.”

“We have set higher standards and shown that we can succeed as a business and a team while also having a positive impact on and off the field. We are proof that mission and capital can coexist.

“We know sport can transcend barriers far beyond the field of play and we are committed to learning and growing alongside others who want to bend the curve towards greater equity and inclusion in this industry and beyond.

“Equity House is a place for gathering, for collaboration, for conversation, and for elevating the voices and organizations driving change towards the vision we all share,” she said.

Additionally, Angel City FC has signed on as a sponsor of Festival 23, a local football-hosted event that will deliver workshops for young adolescents alongside a youth leadership summit.

This news comes after Angel City FC announced a partnership with Chevrolet.
