sset management company, Amundi, has signed on to become the title sponsor of women’s golf major, The Evian Championship.

The partnership will see the tournament renamed The Amundi Evian Championship for at least the next five years.

Amundi’s sponsorship will increase the tournament’s prize purse by USD$400,000 (AUD$525,000) to become USD$4.5 million (AUD$5.9 million) from 2021.

This year’s Amundi Evian Championship is set to take place from July 22 to 25 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian, France.

“Today, the fact that Amundi joins us, in such unusual times, once again reaffirms the Major’s appeal.

“It enables us to further develop the tournament’s global strength and improve in all areas in order to provide the players and the international golfing world with a tournament that is unique, and one which has – I believe – proven its ability to endlessly reinvent itself and become a benchmark,” Riboud said.
