Amundi Evian Championship Raises Prize Pool By US$2M

The Ladies Professional Golf Association’s Amundi Evian Championship is raising its prize fund to €6.2m this year (USD$6.5 million), where the winner of the women’s golf major will receive $1m.

The new prize fund represents a $2m raise from 2021, with the winner’s prize up from $675,000 last year.

Furthermore, the Evian Championship will  distribute the prize purse to all-tournament competitors, with players who are not selected to receive “unofficial earnings.”

The 2022 Event sponsors Amundi, Rolex, Danone, and Evian, can be credited for the raise.

LPGA tour commissioner, Mollie Marcoux Samaan, said: “We are incredibly appreciative of our friends and partners at The Amundi Evian Championship for their ongoing support of the LPGA Tour and the world’s best female golfers.”

“Elevating the purse of this major championship makes a powerful statement about the value and status of the women’s game and the strong commitment of Amundi, Danone, Evian, and Rolex to advancing the LPGA and our world-class athletes.”

Earlier this year, the United States Golf Association almost doubled the US Women’s Open funds to $10m for 2022, with The AIG Women’s British Open pool also climbing to $6.8m this year.
