American Express joins host of partners at Wimbledon

American Express has signed on as a new sponsor of Wimbledon, joining a host of existing partners.

The grand slam tennis tournament boasts partnerships with the likes of mineral water brand Evian, banking group HSBC, Lanson Champagne and beer brand Stella Artois.

Evian and HSBC have both signed new five-year deals, effective from this year and will continue to serve as Wimbledon’s official water and official bank, respectively.

Stella Artois’ new three-year deal will begin with the 2019 tournament. It will continue to serve as the official beer of the event.

Lanson, Wimbledon’s official Champagne, has signed a new three-year deal that begins with this year’s tournament.

The length of American Express’ deal with the AELTC was not disclosed, but the multi-year deal begins in 2019.

The company will serve as Wimbledon’s official payments partner, with further details of the agreement to be revealed later in the year.
