Amazon To Make Four Premier League Matches Free

With English soccer’s top-flight, the Premier League, set to return to action on June 17, broadcast partner Amazon has announced it will make its four additional live match broadcasts free on its Prime Video streaming platform.

Prime Video Sport Europe managing director, Alex Green, said users will not need to be paying customers in order to watch the four additional games on the online streaming service.

“Like the rest of the country, we are excited to see the Premier League return to action,” Green said.

“We will be making all four of Amazon Prime Video’s additional fixtures in the 2019/20 season available free of charge, fans will not need a Prime membership to view the games on Prime Video,” he said.

With 92 Premier Games set to be broadcast live domestically in the UK across Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport and Amazon Prime, Amazon’s announcement means 33 of those will be shown for free to fans.

Pay-TV network, Sky Sports, has said 25 of its 64 total remaining fixtures will be free-to-air, with the BBC also announcing four matches will be free on BBC Sport.
