Alcatel, part of the TCL Group, has announced the launch of its ‘Try For A Million’ promotion, giving fans the chance to win one million dollars for each South Sydney Rabbitohs home game during the 2019 NRL season.
The promotion invites fans to predict the exact number and sequence of tries scored by specific players, which can be entered prior to each home game via the Rabbitohs app.
Alcatel VP and regional managing director, South East Asia & Pacific, Sam Skontos, said the promotion is the biggest and most exciting engagement with Australian sports fans Alcatel have done.
“With our ‘Try For A Million’ promotion, we are adding another layer of excitement to the game-day experience for both South Sydney fans and NRL fans more broadly,” Mr Skontos said.
“Engaging with Australian sports fans is something we have done for close to a decade, but this is by far the biggest and most exciting activation we have launched and are proud to be doing so in conjunction with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
“We are committed to adding value and excitement to people’s lives through access to affordable technology, so our partnerships are focused on bringing this to life,” he said.
Alcatel extended their partnership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2019 and 2020 NRL seasons, becoming front of jersey sponsors in December 2018.
Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly, said Alcatel are providing an added level of excitement for South Sydney members and fans for the 2019 NRL season.
“Alcatel are a wonderful example of a sponsor always looking to try new ideas that will add to the fan’s overall experience, and the ‘Try For A Million’ promotion really epitomises this philosophy.
“Their passion for bringing the game even closer to the fans is authentic and we are delighted to be partnering with them on a promotion that could very genuinely change someone’s life if they were to be successful in their weekly prediction,” Mr Solly said.
The promotion, which began Sunday March 31, is limited to the first 5000 entrants for each of South Sydney’s 12 home games of the season, with each person only allowed one entry per home game.
