Adelaide Oval Reinvests in Fan Experience Ahead of back-to-back AFL Kick Off

Adelaide Oval is ready for the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, debuting a series of high-tech infrastructure upgrades and a revamped food menu designed to enhance the match-day experience.

The investment, totaling over $3.1 million, ensures the iconic venue remains a global leader in fan engagement as it prepares to host back-to-back home games for South Australia’s AFL clubs next weekend.

Emphasising that the reinvestment is vital for keeping pace with global stadium standards, Adelaide Oval CEO, Nick Addison, said: “Reinvesting in Adelaide Oval is critical to ensuring it maintains its iconic status.”

“We’re continually reinvesting in the things that make the biggest impact on the fan experience—technology, infrastructure, and exceptional food and beverage,” Addison said.

Adelaide Oval’s Visual and Entry Upgrades

The centerpiece of the reinvestment is the replacement of the stadium’s three massive super screens with the latest LED technology.

While maintaining their original footprint, including the 190sqm screen on the northern mound, the new displays feature 2.7 million additional pixels, providing a 60% increase in resolution. Fans will notice significantly sharper graphics and replays, even in direct sunlight.

To streamline the arrival process, new digital turnstiles have been installed at all gates. These units offer larger, more accessible interfaces for faster scanning of digital tickets and membership cards, though traditional paper tickets remain supported.

New “SA Fans” Culinary Offerings

The 2026 season introduces several themed food outlets, adding variety to the stadium’s concourses:

  • The Chippery: Located by the Northern Mound, specializing in premium hot chips.
  • Viva Cantina: A Mexican-inspired outlet in the Eastern Stand.
  • Cheeky Chook: Serving chicken and chips in the South Stand.

Notably, the stadium is maintaining its “SA Brands for SA Fans” value commitment.

Local favorites like Vili’s pies, Fleurieu Milk, and Nippy’s juices remain priced at just $5. Adelaide Oval also continues to hold the title for the most affordable full-strength beer at any Tier One stadium in Australia, with a 425ml West End pint priced at $11.30.
