he AFL has announced AAMI as the official naming rights partner of the 2021 AAMI Community Series, set to begin on March 3.

All AFL teams will play in one match from Wednesday, March 3 until Sunday, March 7, of 2021, with all matches to be broadcast live via Kayo, FOX FOOTY, and the Official AFL LIVE app.

The pre-season competition will involve each team playing in one pre-season practice match and one 2021 AAMI community series match, following a revision of the former plan of teams being scheduled to play two matches over three weeks.

AFL executive general manager of clubs and broadcast, Travis Auld, said: “In addition to ensuring we continue to prioritise the health of our players, staff, and the wider community, this arrangement provides clubs with the ability to determine individual requirements, allowing clubs and players to best prepare for the season ahead.”

“The AAMI Community Series plays an important role for both AFL clubs and supporters and we are proud to have AAMI as the naming rights partner for this upcoming series,” he said.

AAMI CEO Insurance Products Portfolio, Lisa Harrison, said AAMI is proud to be supporting the AFL and AFLW through this latest partnership.

“AAMI is delighted to be supporting the AFL Community Series which will be the first time fans are able to see their men’s teams in full match conditions this year,” Harrison said.

“AAMI’s partnership of the Community Series will not only extend our support right through the year from pre-season through to the finals but also enable fans to access AFL games and see their footy heroes in action.”

“We know many Australians have had a tough time in the past year, so it’s wonderful to be able to support the excitement of AFL across the country,” she said.

With the new pre-season structure, AFL teams will each participate in one pre-season practice match against a team in the same state in the last week in February, as well as one 2021 AAMI Community Series match between March 3 and March 7.
