AAMI Joins Forces with NBL as Official Insurance Partner for 2023-24 Season

The National Basketball League (NBL), the premier men’s professional basketball league in Australasia, has sealed a new sponsorship deal with leading general insurance provider AAMI.

The partnership sees AAMI become designated as the official insurance partner for the upcoming 2023-24 NBL season – expanding the organisations’ link after AAMI was a broadcast partner for the league over the past two seasons. Part of the agreement includes AAMI’s logo appearing on the key of the NBL’s courts, which currently features Mitsubishi Electric and Blackmores.

AAMI is the eighth new partner to team up with the NBL for the 2023-24 season, which got underway on September 28. This relationship underscores the NBL’s remarkable growth and popularity in recent years.

“AAMI is one of Australia’s most well-known and respected brands, and we are thrilled to broaden our partnership with them this season,” said Lauren Hansen, the NBL’s Chief Partnerships Officer, in an official statement.

“The NBL continues to go from strength to strength, and AAMI continuing as part of our family of partners shows the trust and faith they have in our League and the broader sport.

“We look forward to what promises to be a mutually beneficial partnership for both parties, as we enter arguably the biggest season in recent history.”

Mim Haysom, AAMI’s Executive General Manager of Brand and Customer Experience at AAMI, echoed the sentiment stating: “AAMI is proud to partner with the NBL and associate with an Australian League that is well respected and much loved across the nation.

“We’re excited to continue our support, and play a role in bringing the game and its incredible athletes and role models to the millions of passionate fans and kids playing basketball around Australia.”

This partnership signifies a shared commitment to the growth and success of basketball in Australia, as well as the wider community it touches.

AAMI, short for Australian Associated Motor Insurers Limited, was founded in 1970 and has grown into one of Australia’s most prominent general insurance companies. AAMI has been a part of the Suncorp Group since 2007.
