Fremantle FC and Pirate Life Launch Fifth Collaborative Retro Lager in Commercial Partnership Extension

Fremantle Football Club and Australian craft brewery Pirate Life have reinforced their commercial relationship by launching their fifth official collaborative brew, the Fremantle Lager, just ahead of the club’s high-profile Retro Round fixture against the Adelaide Crows at Optus Stadium on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Released in direct conjunction with the club’s highly anticipated 2026 retro jumper and expanded merchandise range, this limited-edition release successfully celebrates half a decade of commercial partnership between the two organisations since the collaborative relationship originally kicked off back in 2021.

Pirate Life Innovation Brewer, Dennis de Boer, highlighted the cultural alignment driving the recurring venture within the competitive sports entertainment and beverage market.

“The Fremantle x Pirate Life partnership was built on a shared love of footy and beer, so we’re stoked to be celebrating five years of friendship with a cold one.”

“This lager is crafted with premium malts and noble hops, then cold fermented for brilliant clarity and a smooth, refined mouthfeel.

“The result is a crisp and rewarding beer with great depth of flavour. Built for game day or any other ending in Y,” de Boer said.

The commercial rollout capitalises on active fan engagement through targeted experiential marketing events across Western Australia. Leading up to the official Retro Round match, Pirate Life’s flagship Perth venue will host a dedicated Retro Watch Party on Saturday, August 8, commencing at 10.30 am as Fremantle takes on Melbourne.

This community-focused event features personal appearances by past club players, competitive prizes for the best retro supporter kit, and fresh supplies of the collaboration lager available both on tap and in packaged cases for takeaway purchase.

To manage exceptionally limited production quantities, distribution is strictly targeted across select retail channels starting Monday, August 3.

Cans are available online via the official Pirate Life website and physically across Western Australia through Pirate Life Perth, all Liquor Barons retail stores, The Gate Bar & Bistro in Success, and The Ashby Bar & Bistro in Ashby.
