Sydney Roosters Celebrate Record-breaking 2025 NRL Season

The Sydney Roosters have recorded the highest home attendance figures in the club’s history, surpassing 300,000 fans across the 2025 NRL regular season.

A crowd of 41,604 for the club’s final home game against rivals South Sydney at Allianz Stadium pushed the total to 310,150.

This milestone represents a significant uplift from 222,751 in 2024 and 211,352 in 2023. Average attendances also rose to 25,846 per home game, an increase of more than 3,500 on last year’s figure.

The results position the Roosters as one of the league’s strongest performers in live attendance, supported by a sustained membership base of more than 20,000 for the third consecutive year. Importantly, the club has set a new benchmark by averaging over 25,000 fans per home match for the first time.

Commercial Perspective

The figures carry weight beyond headline numbers. Higher attendance enhances the match-day value proposition for sponsors and hospitality partners while also supporting the financial sustainability of venue operator Venues NSW, which manages Allianz Stadium.

For broadcasters, consistent crowd growth strengthens the narrative of rugby league’s ongoing appeal in the competitive Sydney sporting market.

An Improved Trend in Australian Sports

The Roosters’ rise reflects a broader trend in Australian sport, where modernised stadiums and improved fan experiences are contributing to stronger live event attendance.

Allianz Stadium, redeveloped at a cost of AUD 828 million, has become a cornerstone asset for Sydney clubs seeking to maximise game-day revenues and deliver premium hospitality offerings.

Roosters captain James Tedesco acknowledged the impact of supporter engagement, noting the “electric” atmosphere across the season, but for club executives the key takeaway lies in sustaining and capitalising on this momentum. Conversion of casual attendees into long-term members, further leveraging corporate partnerships, and ensuring continued relevance amid competition from rival codes remain strategic priorities.
