Canberra Raiders Rally Behind RMHC

The Canberra Raiders have maintained their support for Ronald McDonald House Canberra (RMHC) this month, underscoring the club’s ongoing community engagement strategy through its involvement in the “Meals from the Heart” program and the designation of RMHC as a game day charity partner.

As part of the initiative, Raiders staff, including members of the commercial department and player partners, participated in preparing and serving meals to families staying at RMHC while their children receive medical treatment.

Recognising the club’s broader impact to these initiatives, Head of Membership and Ticketing at the Raiders, Sharna Mitchell, said: “It was a privilege to give back to families going through so much.”

“Something as simple as providing a warm meal can offer real comfort and make a meaningful difference,” Mitchell said.

The program, widely adopted by corporate and community groups, is designed to provide families with temporary relief while fostering team building and community involvement for participants.

In addition to the Meals from the Heart participation, the Raiders will spotlight RMHC as the Community Charity Partner during this week’s 50-50 Charity Raffle. Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to supporting the House’s services for families in medical crisis.

Aligning with initiatives like RMHC offers sponsorship benefits and demonstrates a commitment to long-term community investment.

While the financial impact of such partnerships may be modest in isolation, their strategic value lies in strengthening fan loyalty, building institutional trust, and broadening appeal to corporate partners with similar values.
