Golf Australia Announce Transition to New Digital System

Golf Australia is set to implement a new digital system, providing a clear timeline for golf clubs and facilities across the nation to transition to a more modern, centralised, and streamlined administration and management experience.

This initiative represents a technological upgrade for the sport’s national governing body.

On 2 October 2025, the new system, powered by the enhanced Golf Australia CONNECT system, will go live for over 1,900 clubs and facilities nationwide.

This widespread rollout aims to standardise and improve digital interactions across Australian golf. Concurrently, golfers will gain access to their GA Handicap via a new Official Golf Australia App or a new login portal, with further details for members expected in the coming weeks.

Commenting on the new system, Golf Australia Chief Executive Officer, James Sutherland, said: “While GOLF Link has served the game well for more than two decades, this next chapter gives us the opportunity to deliver a better, more consistent digital experience for everyone in golf.”

“This is about much more than technology. It’s about creating a unified, modern system that makes it easier for Australians to engage with golf, especially the 460,000 golf club members,” Sutherland said.

Golf Australia has prioritised centralised functionality and user experience for clubs, facilities, and golf club members in this initial phase of the digital upgrade, with further updates and features anticipated.

The new system’s handicap and club management solutions have been developed by Golf Australia in partnership with DotGolf, a golf technology company co-owned by The R&A and Golf New Zealand.

DotGolf brings an experience in providing golf technology services, including handicapping management, to various international markets such as England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and New Zealand.

The new digital system is designed for full integration with existing providers of club and event management software, including MiClub, SimpleGolf, Golf Magic, Golf Genius, and GolfBox.

This connectivity is crucial for ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining continuity for clubs already utilising these platforms.
