Seattle Reign FC has announced a new partnership with Alaska Airlines, designating the carrier as the club’s Official and Exclusive Airline.
This collaboration unites two prominent Seattle-based entities, signalling a strategic intent to enhance community engagement, promote equity, and elevate the global profile of women’s football.
The partnership comes as both organisations embark on new phases of development.
Commenting on the partnership, Seattle Reign FC’s chief business officer Maya Mendoza-Exstrom, said: “We are thrilled to bring our two Seattle-based brands together in this partnership… at a time when both organisations are entering exciting new eras.”
She further highlighted Alaska Airlines’ established commitment to community impact, encompassing environmental initiatives and efforts to expand opportunities for women in aviation, indicating a values-based alignment intended to foster a meaningful relationship supporting both the team and the broader community while championing women’s sports.
A key component of the agreement positions Alaska Airlines as the presenting sponsor of international call-ups.
This initiative is designed to highlight Reign players representing their national teams on the global stage, with accompanying storytelling and content campaigns aimed at connecting fans with the athletes’ international journeys.
Throughout the remainder of the current season, Reign FC supporters can anticipate various fan engagement activations during home matches, including surprise seat upgrades, giveaways, and opportunities to win travel rewards across Alaska Airlines’ expanding network.
The airline also plans to introduce additional programs to reward supporters, contributing to enhanced fan engagement and community connection.
The partnership will be showcased when Reign FC plays San Diego Wave FC on 29 August, serving as a dedicated platform to celebrate their shared commitment to advancing the sport and nurturing the Seattle community.
In a direct link between on-field performance and social impact, a new initiative will see Alaska Airlines donate miles to support Reign FC’s RISE Purpose Platform community partners for every goal scored by Reign FC at home for the remainder of the season.
This mechanism ties athletic success to tangible community benefits, enhancing the corporate social responsibility profiles of both entities.
