Polly Bancroft Named Head Of Women’s Football At Manchester United

Premier Legaue club, Manchester United, has announced Polly Bancroft, as the club’s head of women’s football, which has been recently created.

Bancroft brings 10 years of experience in senior football roles, including time spent working at UEFA, the Football Association, and since October 2020, she has been the women’s team general manager at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Her new role at the club will see her responsible for overseeing all women’s football activities, while also working to grow the women’s game from the first-team to the academy through long-term strategy.

Commenting on her appointment, Bancroft said: “I am delighted to be joining Manchester United at such an important moment for the women’s team in this exciting era of women’s football.”

Manchester United football director, John Murtough, added: “We are delighted to have someone of Polly’s experience and expertise join the club at this exciting moment for the women’s team.”

“Under the leadership of Marc Skinner (women’s team head coach), the team has established itself as one of the challenges in the Women’s Super League and Polly is already proving that she can add that extra ingredient that will take us to the next level, both on and off the pitch,” he said.

The announcement of Bancroft’s new position follows the release of Manchester United’s 2021/22 Fiscal year financial results, where the club revealed a growth of 18% in revenue growth.
