Paige Bueckers, University of Connecticut basketball star, has become the first college athlete to be signed by Gatorade and StockX.

The partnerships could see Bueckers earn over USD$1 million (AUD$1.4 million) a year in endorsements.

“I know this is just the beginning of our partnership and can’t wait to get to work with Gatorade to drive impact in the community and on the women’s game.” Bueckers said.

Bueckers’ skill was highlighted to Gatorade when she won the 2020 Gatorade player of the year in high-school.

Gatorade global head of sport marketing, Jeff Kearney, said: “From her electrifying performances on the court to fuelling change off of it, Paige exemplifies everything it means to be a Gatorade athlete, and partnering with her is a statement to the next generation of our continued commitment to women in sport.”

She will join Serena Williams, Sydney McLaughlin and many other famous athletes who are also signed by Gatorade.
