Zurich Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to Australian football, continuing as Co-Principal Partner of the Melbourne Football Club’s AFL program, a role it has held since 2018. The insurer expanded its support to include Melbourne’s AFLW team in 2020, consolidating its presence across both elite competitions.
The partnership places Zurich alongside one of the AFL’s foundation clubs, recognised as the world’s oldest professional sporting club, with roots dating back to 1858.
With the AFL maintaining a dominant position in Australia’s sporting landscape, leading in participation, attendance, and broadcast reach the partnership continues to provide Zurich with significant national visibility.
Under the agreement, Zurich’s branding is featured prominently on Melbourne’s playing and training apparel: on the front of the men’s guernseys and the back of the women’s guernseys. This dual presence highlights the brand’s investment in both men’s and women’s elite football.
The insurer has also integrated itself into the club’s community-facing initiatives, participating in campaigns including the annual Big Freeze for FightMND, Round for Reach, and the Breast Cancer Network Australia’s Pink Lady match. These alignments reflect Zurich’s focus on physical and mental wellbeing, and extend the partnership beyond matchday branding into broader community impact.
