Travis Auld Appointed Chair of Champion Data Board

Champion Data has announced the appointment of Travis Auld as the new chair of its board.

Auld, a highly respected executive in the Australian sports and entertainment landscape, currently serves as the CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC).

As the official data partner to the AFL and a key provider for leagues including Suncorp Super Netball and Horse Racing, Champion Data is increasingly focused on high-level data-driven storytelling and international growth.

Commenting on the appointment of Travis Auld, Champion Data spokesperson, stated: “Travis brings a wealth of leadership experience across elite sport and major events.”

A Career Defined by Elite Sport Leadership

Auld brings a comprehensive background in sports administration and commercial strategy to the role:

• Australian Grand Prix Corporation: Since August 2023, Auld has led the AGPC, overseeing the record-breaking growth of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne and the MotoGP at Phillip Island.
• AFL Executive: Prior to the AGPC, he spent nearly a decade at AFL headquarters as the Executive General Manager of Finance, Clubs, and Broadcasting, where he was instrumental in navigating the league’s media rights and club funding models.
• Club Leadership: Auld has unique “front-line” experience as the inaugural CEO of the Gold Coast Suns and as a former senior executive at the Essendon Football Club.

The appointment is seen as a bridge between Champion Data’s technical capabilities and the broader commercial needs of major sporting codes.
