The Adelaide Thunderbirds have confirmed a three-year partnership with RAA, marking a significant new chapter for both organisations.
The announcement follows a major milestone for the Thunderbirds, who have surpassed 6,000 members for the 2025 season, ranking second-highest in Suncorp Super Netball membership numbers.
Highlighting the shared commitment to the South Australian community, Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei said: “Our members are at the heart of everything we do at the Thunderbirds and Netball SA, and we know this is a passion we share with RAA.”
“This new record is significant for us as the second-highest membership base in Suncorp Super Netball, and we’re thrilled to welcome RAA as our official member partner for the next three years.”
RAA Chief Executive Officer Nick Reade shared similar sentiments: “As South Australia’s largest member organisation, with more than 830,000 members, we’re thrilled to partner with the Thunderbirds, who have just reached their own milestone of 6,000 members.”
“Supporting our local sports teams is incredibly important to us at RAA, because we know how much they mean to our members and the impact they have in our community,” Reade said.
By extending its partnerships into netball, RAA aims to provide additional benefits to South Australian sports fans while continuing its endorsement of women’s sport.
As the Thunderbirds’ official member partner, RAA branding will debut during the club’s Member Recognition Round on Saturday, 12 July, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
The initiative is designed to enhance member engagement and bring added value to both RAA and Thunderbirds supporters.
From 2026, RAA members will also enjoy exclusive ticketing offers and ‘inner sanctum’ experiences at Thunderbirds matches, enriching the match-day experience.
Georgie Horjus, Thunderbird #100 and a standout player from Kangaroo Island, has been named the official ambassador for the partnership, further strengthening the connection between the two organisations.
With the sponsorship commencing this weekend, RAA is set to play a key role in the Thunderbirds’ continued success, with further announcements expected soon around additional member benefits.
