he Perth Scorchers have announced a new official partnership with Budget Direct for the 2020/21 KFC Big Bash League (BBL) season.

As part of the deal, Budget Direct’s logo will be on the Scorchers playing and training kits, with LED signage activations on matchdays as well as a commitment from the insurance company to the Scorchers’ official charity partner, Variety WA.

Budget Direct will donate $300 for every six and $100 for every four the Scorchers hit over the BBL season, up to a total of $50,000 to Variety WA, in an effort to support Western Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with a disability.

Budget Direct CEO, John Myler, said the ‘Budget Direct Boundaries for Kids’ fundraising initiative is something the organisation is proud to be involved with.

“Budget Direct is incredibly proud to become an official partner of the Perth Scorchers,” Myler said.

“As Australia’s most award-winning major car and home insurer, we like to back winners and so we look forward to a great season with the Scorchers.

“Beyond getting behind the Scorchers, supporting the community in which we operate is a key element of our strategy and demonstrates our commitment and care for all.

“The opportunity to create the Budget Direct Boundaries for Kids donation campaign, in support of the club’s charity partner, Variety WA, is something we are proud to be involved with,” he said.

Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) CEO, Christina Matthews, said the club is excited to join forces with Budget Direct.

“Much like the Perth Scorchers and the BBL, Budget Direct has established themselves as an industry leader in a relatively short time,” Matthews said.

“Their commitment to providing outstanding value for their customers, a fun personality, passion, and commitment to giving back to the community really resonates with the Scorchers’ brand and values.

“We look forward to working with Budget Direct to extend their reach across the highest-rated league in Australia and the opportunity to engage with our passionate fan base.

“The initiative to raise funds to help WA kids in need will bring joy across the festive season in what has been a difficult year for all,” she said.

Variety WA CEO, Tony Hume, said: “The Perth Scorchers are known for bringing the community joy and now thanks to Budget Direct, each Scorchers boundary will be bringing enormous benefit to Western Australia’s sick and disadvantaged kids.”

“This year was challenging for all of the community but at Variety WA, we’ve been able to help more than 10,000 kids.

“We have loved our partnership with the Scorchers for many years now and this new initiative with Budget Direct will mean we can reach so many more kids who really need our help,” Hume said.
