SailGP and Rolex have announced a ground-breaking partnership extension that will see the Swiss watchmaker continue as the global presenting partner and exclusive official timepiece of the championship for the next ten seasons.
This new deal represents a significant milestone in the relationship between the two brands, which began at the launch of SailGP in 2018.
Fans of the sport will also be thrilled to know that Rolex will continue as the presenting partner of the popular docuseries Racing on the Edge, which takes viewers behind the scenes of the SailGP championship and provides an intimate look at the highs and lows of the world’s top professional athletes as they strive to be the best.
Commenting on the partnership, SailGP CEO, Russell Couts, said: “Fans of the sport will also be thrilled to know that Rolex will continue as the presenting partner of the popular docuseries Racing on the Edge, which takes viewers behind the scenes of the SailGP championship and provides an intimate look at the highs and lows of the world’s top professional athletes as they strive to be the best.”
Rolex director of communication and image, Arnaud Boetsch, added: “Rolex has long supported those who go above and beyond to drive innovation and positive change.”
“The Swiss brand’s involvement with yachting stretches back 65 years, during which time it has forged deep-rooted connections with elite organizations and individuals at the forefront of the sport.
“The unrelenting pursuit of excellence, together with the marriage of human achievement and technical development, as well as the fierce team spirit required to succeed, make Rolex a natural partner of SailGP,” Boetsch said.
The announcement comes after Seven was named the free-to-air broadcaster of the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix.
