evolution Esports and Gaming has announced a three-year partnership with SAF Global Gaming in an effort to help develop greater FIFA esports talent.

The partnership will see tournament organiser, Revolution Esports share its wealth in facilities, equipment, education, and brand partnerships with FIFA community, SAF, who will help with talent contracts, performance coaching, content production and more, according to Esports Insider.

SAF founder, Callum Dornan, said both parties hope to harness the growing audience of FIFA fans who want to participate as ‘players, talent, content creators, or consumer of the game and its content’.

“I strongly believe that with our community roots and expertise within the FIFA gaming sector, we can provide a clear pathway to future burgeoning talent within esports, the partnership with Revolution is very exciting in activating our vision,” Dornan said.

Revolution Esports CEO and founder, Adam Johnson, said: “We have long known there is an abundance of untapped talent within esports and gaming and FIFA is no different.”

“COVID-19, [whilst] creating opportunities for many in esports, has also had a negative impact on talent identification and development.

“I believe that some of the financial challenges people face will have a further negative impact on talent ID.

“Our partnership aims to create a clear pathway enabling talent to develop and make a sustainable career within FIFA,” Johnson said.

Elsewhere in esports, Birmingham City University has announced it’s newly created BA (Hons) Esports Management course has received accreditation by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

The accreditation from CMI approves the course’s approach of combining mainstream business and management theory with practical esports application including such areas as technology and digital innovation, marketing, events, operations, and analytics.

Birmingham City University subject group leader, Dr Richard Oddy, said: “The Esports Management course has been a great success to date and the CMI accreditation further validates its strong links to industry and our commitment to developing work ready graduates and esports leaders of the future.”
