eal Madrid and EA Sports have announced they have renewed their exclusive partnership for the next five years through to 2025, giving EA Sports FIFA exclusive access to Real Madrid assets and players.

In its existence so far, the partnership has seen several Real Madrid players feature on FIFA’s front cover, including current coach, Zinedine Zidane, Eden Hazard, Roberto Carlos, and Karim Benzema.

This deal means EA Sports will remain the official video game partner of Spain’s top-flight league, the La Liga, leaders, and exclusive Real Madrid content on FIFA 21, which is due to be released on October 9, 2020.

EA Sports FIFA VP general manager, Nick Wlodyka, said the success of Real Madrid kits being the most popular among players in the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode, shows the success of the partnership for both parties.

“Strategic partnerships like this one with Real Madrid are crucial to our vision of growing the love of sport and, in this case, football around the world,” Wlodyka said.

Real Madrid is one of the most iconic and successful clubs in the world and we look forward to delivering the most authentic, innovative and interactive Real Madrid FIFA experience for fans in the years to come,” he said.

Real Madrid director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueño, said the extended deal will help both Real Madrid and EA Sports further extend their respective fanbases worldwide.

“This renewal allows us to extend Real Madrid’s reach around the world through the success of the FIFA franchise,” Butragueño said.

“We have a shared vision of delivering a unique experience and this partnership will allow us to offer innovative ways to entertain existing fans and attract new ones,” he said.
