Prime Video has unveiled Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja as its official ambassador for the upcoming live broadcast of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Khawaja, renowned for his achievements in international cricket across all formats, including T20, will provide exclusive insights and analysis during key matches of the tournament on Prime Video’s social media platforms.

The streaming service announced that it would feature Khawaja in its national advertising campaign set to launch on May 18, ahead of the World Cup, which commences on June 1 internationally and June 2 for Australian viewers. This year’s tournament is historic, marking the first time the United States will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Australia, a top contender and current holder of the World Test Championship and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup titles, aims to be the first team to simultaneously hold all three Men’s ICC trophies. The tournament will kick off with a match between the United States and Canada in Dallas, followed by a high-stakes India versus Pakistan match in New York on June 10.

The Super Eight phase will begin on June 20, culminating in the championship match on June 30 in Barbados. All matches will be available live on Prime Video, enhancing the viewing experience with features like an in-game language selector and a “Rapid Recap” function. This feature, powered by machine learning, compiles significant plays into a two-minute highlight reel, allowing viewers to catch up on or revisit key moments of the game seamlessly.

Prime Video holds exclusive Australian broadcast rights for ICC cricket events for the next four years, offering cricket fans across the country access to all matches of every elite ICC tournament at no additional cost beyond a Prime membership. This access also includes a free 30-day trial for new customers.
