Perth Lynx secure several sponsors days before the season opener

The WNBL’s Perth Lynx has secured the sponsorship of two major companies ahead of the season opener this weekend.

Suzuki Australia and health and care provider Bupa, have formalised agreements with the basketball club in recent weeks.

The landmark deal with Suzuki Australia will see the motor company become the club’s first principal partner since its rebrand in 2016.

Osborne Park Suzuki Dealer Principal Graham Mitchell said it’s an honour to align with a brand providing the West Australian community with elite female role models.

“The Perth Lynx brand is renowned for its professionalism, and it shows on the court with the way they play and the results they get.

We are excited to be a part of that,” he said.

The new community-focused partnership with Bupa – #communitylynx – will support grassroots basketball clubs in WA and focus on encouraging women of all ages to support and play basketball.

Jason Rose, Regional General Manager for Queensland and WA said Bupa is always looking to strengthen community links to help benefit the health and wellbeing of their customers.

“We wanted to increase our community presence in Western Australian and know that basketball is one of the most popular sports in participation and attendance,” said Mr Rose.

“Through this new partnership with Lynx, we want to help bring families together and help encourage people of all ages to get involved in community activities.”

Perth Lynx CEO, Troy Georgiu said it’s an exciting time for the organisation.

“We’re on the eve of our fourth season with the Lynx, and we’re starting to see some incredible corporate support,” he said.

“Both Bupa and Pentanet have joined ECU as partners, and now for Suzuki to take up a principal partnership, the future is looking bright.

“I want to personally thank Dan at Suzuki and Graham at Osborne Park Suzuki for joining our team.”
