The Canberra region recently celebrated the success of the 2025 Raiders Tag School Gala Days, bringing together hundreds of students for two days of spirited rugby league competition, teamwork, and community engagement.
The High School Gala Days were delivered by the Canberra Region NRL Game Development Team and were held across two major event days, one dedicated to southside schools and the other to northside schools.
A total of 23 schools from the ACT and nearby communities participated, showcasing strong enthusiasm for the sport and reflecting the ongoing growth of rugby league at the grassroots level.
Across the two days, the fields were buzzing with energy and excitement. A total of 44 teams competed on Tuesday, followed by 16 teams on Thursday.
The high level of participation highlighted the continued commitment of schools, teachers, and sport coordinators to providing opportunities for students to engage in physical activity and community-based sport.
It also emphasised the important role that events like the Raiders Tag Gala Days play in building the future of rugby league in the region—developing young talent, encouraging active lifestyles, and strengthening school and community connections.
The Canberra Region NRL Game Development Team expressed their appreciation to everyone involved in bringing the event to life, including school staff, match officials, and students who competed with enthusiasm and respect.
