NRL Partners With DoorDash

The NRL has announced a new partnership with food delivery platform, DoorDash, with the 2021 NRL Premiership season beginning this weekend.

As part of the deal, DoorDash will receive in-goal signage during Saturday and Sunday matches and will receive activations across the Ampol State of Origin Series and the NRL Finals Series.

DoorDash has been named the official on-demand deliver partner of the NRL and has also secured naming rights to Touch Football Australia along with the deal.

NRL CEO, Andrew Abdo, said the partnership would provide opportunities to enhance fan experiences.

“DoorDash is an exciting and innovative technology company,” Abdo said.

“We’re excited about the new opportunities this partnership will deliver for the game and our fans.

“Both our businesses align putting rugby league fans first and enabling suburban economies to thrive,” he said.

DoorDash consumer marketing senior manager, Michael McCash, said: “We are excited to launch our partnership with the NRL and provide on-demand delivery for fans across the country, from food, snacks, and drinks.”

“Our partnership gives us access to the community-spirited Touch Football, which is one of the fastest growing social sports in Australia.

“We’re also proud to be part of the Indigenous round this year and will be championing the work the NRL does to highlight this important program.

“We look forward to working with the team over the coming months and expanding our support in these areas,” McCash said.

As part of the deal, DoorDash will work to support grassroots communities as the new naming rights partner of the NRL Touch Football, which Touch Football Australia CEO, Jamie O’Connor, said will shape the next strategic cycle of the sport.

“Partnering with DoorDash, such a prominent global brand, demonstrates the upward trajectory of the sport of Touch Football in terms of participation rates, profile, pathways and reach,” O’Connor said.

“The partnership will certainly help amplify the sport and I look forward to our growing our respective brands together,” he said.
