NRL Marketing Veteran Courtney Alderson Launches Courtside Marketing & Communications

Former National Rugby League (NRL) head of marketing, Courtney Alderson, has officially launched Courtside Marketing & Communications.

The move follows Alderson’s 14-year career at the forefront of Australian sports administration, where she played a pivotal role in driving the NRL’s brand positioning, record-breaking ticket sales, and fan engagement strategies.

Commenting on her venures from the NRL, Alderson, said: “After 14 years working across some of Australia’s biggest sporting moments, I’m now focused on helping sport and entertainment brands cut through, win fans and drive commercial impact.” 

During her tenure at the NRL, Alderson was instrumental in navigating the league through significant periods of growth, including the expansion of the NRLW and the successful “Vegas” season openers.

Her departure from the governing body to launch a specialist agency reflects a broader industry trend where senior sports executives are moving into consultancy roles to provide high-level strategic oversight to a wider range of clients.

Courtside Marketing & Communications enters the market with a focus on helping sport and entertainment brands “cut through” in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.
