Nine Entertainment Co. (Nine) has partnered with Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 to secure their free and paid audio-visual rights, along with non-exclusive audio rights, for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.

This agreement cements Nine’s position as Australia’s dedicated Paralympic Network, reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive coverage following the record-setting engagement of over 10 million viewers during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Commenting on the partnership, Nine’s chief executive officer, Matt Stanton, said: “Using Nine’s unrivalled scale across streaming, broadcasting, and publishing, Australian audiences will be able to immerse themselves in the action and the incredible stories of these remarkable athletes, whenever and wherever they desire.”

Chief executive officer of Milano Cortina 2026, Andrea Varnier, added: “From 6 to 15 March 2026, as Italy takes the global spotlight, Australian fans will have the opportunity to follow every moment of this extraordinary celebration of winter sport.”

“We are excited to partner with Nine to deliver the Games directly to Australian audiences,” Varnier said.

Highlighting the power of Paralympic narratives in fostering public inspiration and empowerment, chief executive officer of Paralympics Australia, Cameron Murray, concluded: “With Nine’s exceptional storytelling capabilities, we look forward to showcasing an Australian Paralympic Team that upholds our proud legacy in Winter Para-sports.”

“Congratulations to both Matt Stanton and Andrea Varnier for achieving an agreement that promises to elevate the coverage of the Games in March to impressive heights,” Murray expressed.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, scheduled from March 6 to 15, 2026, will be presented exclusively across the 9Network, 9Now, and Stan Sport.

Nine’s coverage aims to deliver an immersive experience through rich storytelling and stunning visuals that encapsulate the spirit of the Winter Paralympics.

Complementary content will be shared across Nine’s talk radio stations—2GB, 3AW, 6PR, and 4BC—alongside a broad range of updates in their print and online platforms, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Brisbane Times, WAtoday, The Australian Financial Review, nine.com.au, and wwos.com.au.

Milano Cortina 2026 will notably mark the 50th anniversary of the inaugural Paralympic Winter Games held in 1976, featuring approximately 665 Para-athletes from 50 nations competing across 79 medal events in six sports.
