NFL, DFL Announce Collaboration Agreement

German Football League (DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga), who is responsible for organising the Bundesliga, has partnered with the National Football League (NFL) to collaborate on key business areas in the US and German markets.

The deal will see an increase in communication and collaboration in areas, including production, broadcasting and programming, digital innovation, and marketing.

Commenting on the deal, NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, said: “The Bundesliga has long been regarded as the leading league in Germany and one of the finest throughout Europe.”

“We look forward to collaborating with the DFL in a process that we believe will be mutually beneficial,” he said.

DFL CEO, Donata Hopfen, added: “The DFL has always worked openly and cooperatively with leagues and organizations around the world to promote the development of sport worldwide.”

“We look forward to working closely with our colleagues from the NFL on a variety of issues and gaining new insights, particularly with regard to sports in the U.S,” she said.

The NFL is set to play a regular season game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on 13 November in Germany,

The NFL is set to land in Germany on 13 November, where the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the first match in a four-year agreement that brings four games a year to Munich and Frankfurt.
