Netball NSW launches Flood Appeal for affected Associations

Netball NSW, the governing body for netball in New South Wales and operators of the NSW Swifts, has announced the initiation of a statewide Flood Appeal.

In collaboration with the Australian Sports Foundation, this initiative aims to provide critical support to regional netball Associations in northern NSW that have been adversely affected by the catastrophic floods that occurred in May 2025.

Commenting on the initiative, CEO of Netball NSW, Tracey Scott, said: “We’ve had overwhelming interest from across the netball community asking how they can help.”

“This is not just about netball, It’s about helping communities recover and reconnect, and giving our regional Associations the tools to bounce back,” Scott remarked.

The Flood Appeal is set to run for two weeks, started on 30 May until Friday 13 June, and is designed to mobilise the entire netball community to come together in support of three of the most severely impacted Associations.

The funds raised will be allocated towards the restoration of netball facilities, replacement of essential equipment, and assistance for the volunteers and athletes who have experienced disruptions as a result of the floods.

Additionally, Netball NSW welcomes outreach from any further Associations that have faced challenges due to the disaster.

Given the extensive damage to courts, dislocation of families, and disruption to local infrastructures, the Appeal is a crucial effort in reinstating access to the sport, which plays an integral role in community life across NSW.

The launch of this Appeal will coincide with the lead-up to the HART Senior State Titles, one of the largest netball events in the Southern Hemisphere, scheduled to take place from 7–9 June in Campbelltown and Camden.

With anticipated participation from over 220 teams and thousands of spectators, this event serves as a significant platform for raising both funds and awareness about the Appeal and its objectives.
