Kookaburra Sport Extends Partnership with Hockey Australia

Hockey Australia has announced the extension of its long-standing partnership with Kookaburra Sport through to the end of 2027.

The renewed deal ensures the 135-year-old Australian sports brand remains a key supporter of hockey from grassroots to elite competition.

Under the agreement, Kookaburra Sport continues as the Major Partner of the men’s national team (the Kookaburras), Category Partner of the women’s national team (the Hockeyroos), and Official Ball Partner of both Hockey Australia and the Hockey One League.

Commenting on the partnership, Hockey Australia CEO, David Pryles, said the renewal highlights the “invaluable” nature of the long-standing relationship between the two organisations.

“Kookaburra and hockey go hand in hand, and their continued support is invaluable.”

“Over the next two years, we’ll continue working together to connect more Australians with hockey and create more opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game anywhere, anytime,” said Pryles.

Adding his enthusiasm about the partnership, Kookaburra Sport Group, managing director, Brett Elliot, said the company’s ongoing investment reflects its dedication to supporting both elite and grassroots hockey.

“Supporting the game we love – from elite national teams to grassroots hockey clubs across Australia – is a core part of Kookaburra’s identity.”

“We look forward to continuing to play our role in the growth of Australian hockey,” Elliot said.

The company’s logo will continue to feature on the Kookaburras’ playing kit at major international tournaments, including the FIH Pro League, the FIH World Cup, and in the build-up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

While no financial details were disclosed, the extension provides stability for Hockey Australia’s commercial framework heading into the next Olympic cycle.

The partnership also reinforces the governing body’s strategy of aligning with heritage Australian brands that can support both elite performance and community participation objectives.

For Kookaburra Sport, which remains a 100% Australian family-owned business, the deal underscores its commitment to domestic sport at all levels.

The company, headquartered in Melbourne and employing over 200 people globally, has built a reputation as a leading manufacturer of hockey and cricket equipment, with operations in Australia, India, New Zealand, and the UK.
