IPL teams gear up for 2024 season with major sponsorship deals

As anticipation builds for the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League season, domestic Twenty20 cricket teams are racing to secure lucrative sponsorship deals.

Recent announcements from IPL franchises including the Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore reveal the intensifying competition in the sponsorship arena.

The Gujarat Titans, owned by CVC Capital Partners and entering their third IPL season, have announced Dream11 as their principal shirt sponsor. Dream11, a prominent Indian fantasy sports platform and also the primary sponsor of the Indian men’s national team, will have its logo prominently displayed on the Titans’ match jerseys throughout the 2024 IPL season – scheduled to run from late-March to late-May.

This partnership marks an extension of the existing collaboration between the Titans and Dream11. Dream11’s involvement in cricket spans beyond the IPL, including partnerships with the Indian national team and the Women’s Premier League, along with its title sponsorship of the IPL in 2020 (a role now assumed by Tata Group).

Other recent sponsorship deals in the IPL include the Lucknow Super Giants’ agreement with INA Solar and the renewal of playR brand partnerships with several franchises, including the Kings, Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.

Additionally, three franchises – Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore – have all secured commercial deals with Advance Decorative Laminates (ADL).

The 10-team competition kicks off on March 22 with defending champions Chennai Super Kings hosting Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) remains the most lucrative source of revenue for cricket teams and players, attracting a myriad of sponsors eager to align with the league’s well-supported franchises.
