Hoops Capital is set to host exclusive basketball clinics featuring Australian NBA star Josh Giddey on Sunday, 27 July, at Hoops Capital East in Moore Park.

This event offers a rare opportunity for basketball enthusiasts in New South Wales to receive hands-on coaching from a world-class athlete recognised for his contributions to both the Australian Boomers and the NBA.

Giddey, who showcased his skills at the 2024 Olympic Games, was selected sixth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder after a standout season as a Next Star with the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL.

His time in the NBA has been marked by rapid development, earning a place on the 2022 All-Rookie Second Team and playing 210 games for Oklahoma City. He played a pivotal role in leading the team to the second round of the 2024–25 NBA Playoffs.

Following his tenure with the Thunder, Giddey was traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he enjoyed a breakout season. During the 2024–25 campaign, he averaged 14.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game across 70 appearances, cementing his reputation as a key contributor.

Clinic Schedule

The clinics at Hoops Capital will feature three individual sessions designed for different age groups:

1. Midday Session (Midday Clinic)

  • Time: 11:15am to 12:45pm
  • Participants will engage in a variety of fundamental skills including passing, dribbling, and shooting as part of a rotation setup.

2. Afternoon Session (Giddey Experience)

  • 1:45pm – 2:20pm: Watch Giddey’s exclusive NBA workout at Hoops Capital East.
  • 2:30pm – 2:45pm: Participate in a Q&A session.
  • 2:45pm – 3:30pm: Take part in a meet and greet for signatures and photo opportunities with Giddey.

Across both sessions, attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with Giddey directly, learning from his experience and gaining valuable insight into elite-level basketball, all while enjoying a truly memorable day on court.
