Fremantle Dockers, Pirate Life Brewing and the Power of Strategic Partnerships

image

With the Fremantle Dockers celebrating 30 years in the AFL last week, the club announced a new partnership with Pirate Life, a South Australian based brewing company.

Pirate Life created a special edition Fremantle Lager, paying tribute to Fremantle’s rich history, featuring the iconic 1995 inaugural guernsey design, complete with the classic anchor emblem and the team’s signature green, red, and purple colours. This nostalgic packaging evokes memories of a simpler time in football, before the digital age brought smartphones, social media, and advanced technologies into the sport.

Pirate Life Co-Founder Jack Cameron, a lifelong supporter of Fremantle, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, especially in the Dockers’ milestone anniversary year. “The partnership between Freo and Pirate Life was built on mateship and a mutual love of footy and beer,” Cameron said. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with the Freo Dockers once again, crafting a lager that pays homage to Retro Round and the classic ’95 jumper.”

Fremantle Lager was available to purchase, and was sold on top at numerous licensed venues across Perth last weekend. With all product now sold out, the collaboration reinforces the power of strategic partnerships in enhancing brand visibility and fan engagement. By joining forces, Fremantle Dockers and Pirate Life not only celebrated a significant milestone but also expanding their combined reach and strengthening their brand presence.
