Adelaide United has announced Flinders University as the front of shirt sponsor for its A-League Women’s team for the 2025/26 season, further strengthening a partnership that has been in place since 2019.

The agreement represents a significant shift in the long-standing collaboration between the two South Australian organisations. After six seasons of featuring on the A-League Men’s kit, Flinders’ branding will now transition to the A-League Women’s side, reflecting a strategic commitment to advancing women’s sport and education pathways.

Partnership focus: education and opportunity

Beyond brand visibility, Flinders University has worked with Adelaide United on curriculum development for school programs, alongside providing student placement opportunities across a range of professional fields including sports science, business, and media.

Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Romy Lawson, said the collaboration builds on shared values of inclusivity and opportunity.

“Flinders University is proud to continue its partnership with Adelaide United to champion strong role models and expand opportunities for our students through practical experience. We see real value in deepening our collaboration with a local club that reflects Flinders’ values and commitment to advocating for more women and girls participating in both sport and education,” Lawson expressed.

Commercial and community significance

Adelaide United CEO, Nathan Kosmina, highlighted the importance of the transition, noting the University’s sustained investment in football at all levels:

“Flinders University has been an outstanding partner of Adelaide United for many years and their continued commitment to our Club is something we greatly value. To have a strong, local South Australian brand like Flinders transition onto the A-League Women’s front of shirt highlights their investment in women’s football and in the growth of our game at all levels,” Kosmina said.
