Brazilian football powerhouse Corinthians has sealed a historic sponsorship agreement with VaideBet.

The deal, valued at a staggering 370 million reais (US$75.85 million), spans three years and positions VaideBet as the primary sponsor for Corinthians’ men’s and women’s football teams, as well as its futsal and basketball squads.

VaideBet will make monthly payments of 10 million reais (US$2.05 million) to Corinthians over the next three years. This significant financial injection establishes a new record in Brazilian soccer sponsorship deals, surpassing the previous high set by rivals Flamengo, who secured a two-year agreement with Pixbet valued at 85 million reais (US$17.42 million) per year.

This is VaideBet’s inaugural foray into football sponsorship and aligns with recent changes in Brazil’s sports betting landscape.

Following the ratification of a new regulatory framework for sports betting, the federal government anticipates annual tax revenues exceeding three billion reais (US$614.6 million). This legislative shift has prompted several Brazilian football clubs, including second-division outfit Juventude, to capitalise on sponsorship opportunities with sports betting firms.

“We are very happy to bring Corinthians the biggest sponsorship in the history of Brazilian football, the result of negotiations that began during the campaign,” said Corinthians’ president Augusto Melo.

“We have always stressed that Corinthians has the biggest brand in South American football and one of the biggest in the world.”

Corinthians enthusiasts can look forward to the unveiling of their new VaideBet-branded jerseys when the team kicks off their Campeonato Paulista campaign against Guarani on January 21.
