Collingwood is Keeping Safety on Speed Dial With LiveLife Alarms

image

The Collingwood Football Club Community Foundation has welcomed LiveLife Alarms as an official supporter of its community programs, marking a meaningful partnership grounded in shared values of care and connection.

Founded in 2015 by Phil Mathieson and Pete Morris, LiveLife Alarms began as a mobile alarm business focused on supporting seniors at risk of falls. The company now offers user-friendly safety devices—including pendants and watches—that send real-time alerts with GPS locations via text to emergency contacts.

Co-founder Pete Morris, a lifelong member of the Magpie Army, expressed his deep personal connection to the club.

“My grandfather lived across from Victoria Park before World War I. I joined the club at 13, was in the cheer squad in the ’70s, and even helped design the banners,” Morris said. “We’ve grown to a point where we can give back. Supporting Collingwood’s community efforts—especially its work around homelessness- feels like the right fit.”

Safety Support at the Magpie Nest Café

A core focus of the partnership involves Collingwood’s Magpie Nest Café, a program that provides meals and support to those experiencing homelessness. Staff at the café now wear LiveLife alarm watches during their shifts, offering an added layer of protection.

The wearable devices enable team members to call for immediate help if they feel unsafe or face a difficult situation, helping ensure a secure working environment while delivering vital services.

A Shared Commitment to Care

This collaboration strengthens the Foundation’s mission to build a safe, respectful, and inclusive community. By partnering with LiveLife Alarms, Collingwood continues to invest in meaningful solutions that protect and empower its volunteers and those they support.
