Bridgestone Golf has announced a partnership with the emerging, Web3 technology company, LinksDAO.
The deal was struck at an event in New York, with an autonomous ball-fitting cart showcasing Bridgestone’s capabilities.
The partnership will give Bridgestone the opportunity to sell their products on Links’ site, as well as offering custom ball fitting for LinksDAO members.
Bridgestone-sponsored professional golfers will also interact with members on the tech company’s favoured platform, Discord.
Discussing Bridgestone’s movement into Web3, Bridgestone CEO, Dan Murphy, said: “The collaboration with LinksDAO is the perfect first step for Bridgestone Golf to support the leading Web3 platform in golf and its passionate members.”
“As the number one ball-fitter in golf, it only makes sense that we bring our innovation in the sport to the number one golf community in Web3,” he said.
LinksDAO CEO, Jim Daily, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Dan Murphy and his team across Bridgestone Golf’s line of world-class golf balls and bringing unique rewards and benefits to our LinksDAO members.”
Additionally, LinksDAO, which operates an online golf retail site and uses NFT-based membership and offers, aims to become the first community-owned group to own and operate a golf course.
The announcement comes after DP World Tour launched their eTour golf competition.
