Brendon Gale, the current Chief Executive Officer of the Richmond Football Club, has announced his decision to leave the club to become the inaugural CEO of the newly established Tasmania Devils. Gale, who has been instrumental in Richmond’s resurgence and success over the past 14 years, will conclude his tenure at the end of the AFL 2024 season.

During Gale’s tenure, Richmond won premierships in 2017, 2019, and 2020, significantly bolstering the club’s standing and membership numbers, alongside substantial growth in its commercial operations and broader community engagement.

The Tasmania Devils, set to join the AFL as its 19th team in the 2028 season, have chosen Gale to lead their entry into the league from 2025, a significant appointment in establishing the Devils’ presence in the national competition and building its operational foundations.

Richmond has acknowledged Gale’s considerable impact and leadership, expressing gratitude for his dedication and achievements.

The club has engaged recruiting firm Transearch International Australia to find its next CEO.
