Australia to Host Opening Matches of Returning Constellation Cup

The Constellation Cup, a prestigious event in the international netball landscape, is set to return this October.

The series will showcase the fierce competition between the Origin Australian Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns, with the opening matches set to take place on Australian soil.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the event, Victorian minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, said: “This international netball contest is yet another feather in Melbourne’s brimming cap.”

“Our major events calendar is the best and most diverse in the country, attracting visitors from across Australia and beyond while supporting thousands of jobs,” he said.

This year marks the 15th iteration of the Constellation Cup, opening at John Cain Arena in Melbourne on Friday, 17 October.

The event enjoys support from Visit Victoria, a significant platinum partner, highlighting the state’s commitment to sporting excellence.

Following the Melbourne match, the Diamonds will host the Silver Ferns for game two at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday, 22 October.

Subsequently, the series will transition across the Tasman Sea, with the climax of the competition occurring in Hamilton and Christchurch, New Zealand.

  • Diamonds v Silver Ferns, Friday 17 October at John Cain Arena (Melbourne)
  • Diamonds v Silver Ferns, Wednesday 22 October at Qudos Bank Arena (Sydney)
  • Silver Ferns v Diamonds, Sunday 26 October at GLOBOX Arena (Hamilton)
  • Silver Ferns v Diamonds, Wednesday 29 October at Wolfbrook Arena (Christchurch)

The Australian Diamonds will be eager to reclaim the Constellation Cup title after the Silver Ferns triumphed in the previous year’s series, marking their first victory since 2021.
