Amazin’ Mets Foundation Invests $430K to Upgrade Juniper Valley Park Field

The Amazin’ Mets Foundation, together with NYC Parks and The LandTek Group, has funded a substantial renovation of Field #1 at Juniper Valley Park in Queens with an investment exceeding $430,000.

This project aims to provide the community with a high-quality, accessible baseball field, supporting youth sports and recreational activities within New York City.

Enhancements include a new irrigation and drainage system, a fully renovated infield, updated fencing, and additional concrete work. The renovation aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to supporting youth baseball initiatives, such as the Sandlot Stars and various baseball and softball clinics. By enhancing local fields, the Foundation continues to facilitate opportunities for community sports and teamwork.

Alex Cohen, President of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, emphasised the project’s community impact: “This is about more than updating infrastructure – it’s about supporting our neighbours and creating opportunities to play and grow.”

The project was completed in October 2024, with The LandTek Group leading the construction. NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue highlighted the community benefits, noting, “These refurbished fields provide the perfect place for our young Queens athletes to build community, practice teamwork, and build character through competition and fun.”

Since 2021, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation has provided over $13 million in grants to more than 180 organisations. This latest field renovation marks another key investment aimed at enriching public spaces, enhancing youth engagement in sports, and fostering community connections through accessible, quality infrastructure.
