Adelaide Crows Name Tim Silvers As New CEO

The Adelaide Football Club has announced the appointment of former Hawthorn Football Club chief operating officer, Tim Silvers.

Silvers will take over from former CEO, Andrew Fagan, who recently resigned after seven years in the top role at the club.

Adelaide Football Club chairman, John Olsen, said Silvers is the ideal administrator for the club’s current and future direction, with a deep understanding of the industry and strong widespread football relationships.

“Having been part of a successful era at Hawthorn, Tim has an intimate working knowledge of what it takes to deliver sustained success at the elite level,” Olsen said.

“We conducted a thorough and rigorous process and the feedback was unanimous, he is a passionate, driven and authentic values-based leader who has a great understanding of the football landscape.

“He also has a proven track record of delivering strong financial and commercial results, and has been a key member of Hawthorn’s executive team over a long period of time.

“Our push to build a new headquarters is gathering momentum and Tim has the experience and skills to head up the transition, having been the project lead for the Hawks plans for a Dingley training base,” he said.

Silvers said he was looking forward to guiding the club into a new era.

“I understand what it means to be part of a successful culture both on and off the field and together with the board, management, staff, coaches and players, I am determined to make this club the best it can possibly be,” Silvers said.

“The Crows are such a significant part of the South Australian community and my family and I can’t wait to officially call Adelaide home.

“To the thousands of Crows members and fans, I have watched from afar and with admiration the passion and loyalty you show at all times.

“I want to strengthen the connection you have with the club and this is a priority.

“It would be remiss of me not to thank Hawthorn for their support and endorsement throughout this process and the club and its people have helped shape me as a person and leader,” he said.
