Sydney Sixers Signs Waterdrop as Official Hydration Partner

The Sydney Sixers have secured a one-year commercial partnership with global hydration brand waterdrop.

Under the terms of the agreement, waterdrop® becomes the Official Partner, Official Hydration Partner, and Official Refill Bottle Partner of the club, aligning performance nutrition with single-use plastic reduction initiatives across high-performance and community assets.

As part of the inventory suite, waterdrop® branding will feature on the lower back of the Sydney Sixers playing shirts throughout the Weber WBBL|12 competition. The agreement includes physical product integration across squad operations, supplying players and technical staff with branded reusable refill bottles, Microdrink hydration cubes, and sideline refueling equipment across home and away fixtures.

Commenting on the partnership, Sydney Sixers GM, Hayden McIntosh, said: “We’re delighted to welcome waterdrop to the Sydney Sixers family this Summer,”

“Hydration is critical to elite performance, but what really stood out to us was waterdrop’s commitment to sustainability and reducing single-use plastics. Those values align strongly with our club and our community.

“We’re excited to work together to enhance the experience of our players and fans throughout the season,” McIntosh said.

Highligting the commercial potential of integrating sustainable hydration within major Australian domestic cricket competitions, managing director of waterdrop® ANZ, Catherine Dix, added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Sydney Sixers, one of the most recognised teams in Australian cricket, with such a passionate fan base and a brilliant connection to the Sydney community.”

“It’s particularly exciting to be joining the club ahead of the WBBL season and supporting the players both on and off the field.

“Summer, cricket and staying hydrated are a natural match, and through this partnership we hope to introduce more Sixers fans to waterdrop®, inspiring them to drink more water and make more sustainable choices every day,” Dix said.

Commercial Footprint and Sustainability Activation

The partnership expands waterdrop’s global sports marketing footprint, which includes established sponsorships across international professional tennis and premier ATP/WTA events. The company operates across more than 40 international markets, marketing sugar-free dissolvable fruit and plant extract cubes designed to reduce single-use plastic bottle consumption.

To activate the partnership across the domestic market, the brand will execute experiential sampling activations, consumer trial hubs, and interactive fan engagement zones across Sydney Sixers home fixtures at North Sydney Oval and the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) throughout the summer.
