WTA Ventures has secured international dairy brand Fage as the new title sponsor of the WTA Finals under a four-year global agreement spanning through 2029.
Brokered by sales agency The Team in collaboration with Sportfive, the partnership launches at the 2026 WTA Finals in Indian Wells (8–15 November) before relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2027 through 2029.
The agreement follows the premature termination of the WTA’s three-year hosting arrangement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring WTA Ventures to secure a primary commercial partner on a compressed timeline.
Despite initial proposals for a single-year agreement for 2026, Fage requested a multi-year term, designating the company as the Official Yoghurt Partner of the WTA Tour.
WTA will transition from its first licensing approach to a self-operating model, directly controlling commercial rights, venue operations, and sponsor integration. The Charlotte event framework will feature a five-day tournament structure aimed at maximising fan engagement, commercial hospitality, and year-round digital partner activations.
While prize money for the 2026 edition in Indian Wells will adjust to USD10 million (AUD14 million), down from USD15.5 million (AUD22.1 milion) in Riyadh, WTA leadership emphasises that direct operational control in Charlotte will unlock higher long-term commercial yields across corporate hospitality, local municipal support, and broader tour sponsorship categories.
Highlighting the commercial execution and synergy of the agreement, chief business officer of WTA Ventures, Teodora Ivanova, said: “It absolutely felt like an achievable goal.”
“Still, I have to say the Fage partnership probably exceeded our expectations and anybody’s expectations.
“But it’s testament to the incredible team that we’re working with, the attractiveness of the WTA as a property, the growth we have seen in women’s tennis, and the opportunity the WTA championship promises for brands,” Ivanova said.
Addressing wider industry discussions regarding tour financials following reported losses during the operational transition, Ivanova reaffirmed the organisation’s fiscal trajectory.
“We’ve made a strategic decision and what you’ve seen is a snapshot in time which is in no way representative of the long term or the vision for the future.”
“We are seeing growth across all of our metrics.
“We have a very clear financial plan.
“We know exactly what we’re delivering on.
“Our financial plan is focused on fiscal discipline but ambitious revenue goals that we feel comfortable with,” Ivanova added.
Fage’s title deal expands its existing tennis footprint, which includes commercial partnerships with the US Open, ATP Finals, Davis Cup, and the BNP Paribas Open.
