The Adelaide 36ers have announced a partnership with The RAW Group, a 100% Aboriginal owned and managed organisation, as the club’s official Game Day Partner for its NBL Indigenous Round fixture this weekend.
The Sixers will host the Illawarra Hawks at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Sunday as part of the league-wide round recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
The collaboration aligns with the NBL’s ongoing efforts to embed Indigenous representation and engagement within the sport.
The Indigenous Round has become a recurring platform for clubs to highlight community relationships, celebrate cultural identity, and support pathways for First Nations talent and leadership across basketball.
Adelaide 36ers CEO, Nic Barbato, said the club viewed the partnership as an opportunity to reinforce its role within the local community.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with The RAW Group for this year’s Indigenous Round.”
“RAW’s commitment to cultural pride, opportunity and excellence mirrors the values we want to represent as a club.
“Their story is one of leadership and purpose, and we’re excited to work with them in celebrating First Nations cultures on such an important occasion,” Barbato said.
The partnership will involve in-arena activations, recognition moments, and engagement opportunities designed to increase awareness of Aboriginal-led business and community development initiatives.
The move also highlights how NBL clubs continue to integrate corporate partnerships into broader cultural programming, positioning game day environments as a platform for storytelling and community visibility.
The Raw Group’s managing director, Allan Jones, said the collaboration provides a meaningful avenue to acknowledge First Nations contributions within Australian basketball.
“RAW’s partnership with the Adelaide 36ers embodies our shared commitment to community, connection, and opportunity,”
“This event provides an important platform to recognise and celebrate First Nations culture and heritage, and to acknowledge the profound contribution First Nations people have made to Australian basketball,” Jones added.
The RAW Group, founded and based in South Australia, operates across civil construction, traffic management, and labour hire, with a defined organisational focus on Indigenous employment and community empowerment.
The 36ers will also wear a custom Indigenous Round jersey designed by artist Temaana Yundu Sanderson-Bromley, developed in collaboration with students from the Aboriginal Basketball Academy.
