NSW Swifts Sell Out Back-to-Back Games

Ken Rosewall Arena buzzed with excitement last weekend night, as the Finals-bound NSW Swifts achieved the remarkable feat of back-to-back sellouts, drawing in a crowd of 10,000 fans.

In this important Suncorp Super Netball Round 13 showdown, the Swifts faced off against the Sunshine Coast Lightning at 5pm on Saturday, marking NSW’s final home game of the regular season.

Expressing his enthusiasm over the latest sellout, emphasising its significance not just for the Swifts, but for netball as a whole, executive general manager of the Swifts Jeremy Butler, said: “Sports fans recognise a premier product when they see it, and Suncorp Super Netball embodies that with unparalleled speed, physicality, and entertainment value.”

“Our Swifts team delivered an exceptional brand of netball, consistently facing world-class opponents who amplified the competition’s intensity.

“Moreover, our netball events transcended simple sporting matches; they evolved into entertainment spectacles.

“Over the years, our fan experience both inside the venue and throughout the precinct established itself as one of the leaders in the Australian sporting landscape,” Butler noted.

The popularity of the match was evident, with the match officially sold out, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for Australia’s premier female sports competition.

This sellout followed the recent success for the Swifts, who packed the arena for their last home game, securing a victory against local rivals, the Giants.

Building on record Membership and Ticket sales, the Swifts had averaged over 8,000 attendees this season, setting a new benchmark in almost three decades of competition.

Positioned second on the Super Netball ladder, the Swifts were aiming for a triumph that could have kept the chase for the Minor Premiership alive against the West Coast Fever for the last round of the season.

Had the Swifts clinched the top position after 14 rounds, they would have been granted to host the Major Semi Final in Sydney.

This weekend also marked the First Nations Round, and Butler encouraged all patrons to arrive early to fully engage in what promised to be a memorable event, celebrating the invaluable contributions of Indigenous Australians to the sport.
